Internal Purchasing platform
Ford's Business Goal: To build a purchasing platform for new employees joining the purchasing department. Design a platform with a modern, intuitive look and feel.

The second goal - retain new employees who recently went through Purchasing training. Ford was experiencing difficulty keeping newly trained employees due to the complexity of an outdated interface and experience.
My role included
  • Unpacking the current workflow through contextual inquires
  • Understanding the sequence an employee is required to input to create a tool order
  • Contextual inquiry - observing the Purchasers performing their job in front of the green screen (the current state)
  • Developing a prototype that followed the user's workflow and sequence
  • Developing the dashboard and prototype (shown)
  • User testing with the Purchasing team
  • Implementing refinements
  • Re-testing assumptions
  • Launch of the new platform
  • Adoption rate of 100%
  • Retention rate up to 92%
